  1. Students are expected to greet their teachers and elders with Good morning/"Vanakkam" and use only courteous and polite language with decorum whiletalking to the members of teaching and non-teaching staff of the College.
  2. Students should refrain from using any insulting, inciting and intimidating language, while talking to their fellow students.
  3. The behaviour of the students within the premises or outside shall be conducive to keep up the dignity of the institution.
  4. Students shall be regular and punctual in attending classes and in all activities related to the college.
  5. Students should neither leave the class rooms nor the campus without the prior permission of the Principal during working hours.
  6. On entering into the class, they shall maintain strict discipline, irrespective of the presence or absence of the teacher.
  7. Students are expected to be seated in the lecture halls, at least five minutes before the commencement of the classes. They shall get up and greet the teacher with respect.
  8. Gathering in groups at roads, entrance, corridor or unauthorized places is strictly prohibited.
  9. Students are strictly prohibited from defacing or damaging the building or furniture or any material whatsoever in the campus. The cost of any damage so caused will be recovered from the students collectively with fine if, the responsibility for it cannot be fixed on any individual or a group, besides.
  10. Misbehaviour, malpractice in Examinations and other domains and other moral delinquencies shall be dealt with severely.
  11. Representation of complaints and grievances if any may be made individually to the Principal through his/her Head of the Department in writing.
  12. Students are expected to read the notice board regularly. Ignorance of any rule/instruction will not be accepted as an excuse for failure to comply with it.
  13. Any property which is lost but found subsequently should be handed over to the office and that the owner can claim it promptly after establishing his/her ownership.
  14. No student shall prevent other students from attending classes.
  15. Students should not take part in communal or political activities.
  16. Students should not organize any meeting within the College premises without the prior permission of the Principal.
  17. Students of the College should not be members of any association unconnected with the College.
  18. Students should not circulate any pamphlets of any kind among students or display anything on black boards, notice boards or anywhere within the College premises without the written permission of the Principal.
  19. Students should not contact the press reporters or any media or send reports or broadcast/Telecast anything which would mar the integrity of the college.
  20. Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
  21. The Principal's decision shall be final in the matter of inflicting punishment to the students, for violation of any of the rules of the college.
  22. ."Ragging" is strictly prohibited by an act promulgated by the Government of Tamil Nadu with penalty and/or imprisonment. Ragging of any kind is prohibited both in the College campus and in the hostel or outside. Students who are guilty of this offence will be expelled from the college and also handed over to the police for further action in accordance with the government orders.
  23. Students who leave in the middle of the course shall pay the entire fees for the remaining period of the course and get clearance certificatenforcing severe punishment.
  24. The names of students who have not paid the tuition fees even after one month of their admission shall be removed from the rolls and they will be readmitted only on payment of the dues and with a readmission fee of Rs.501/-

Rules Of Attendance

  1. Students shall not absent themselves from the college without prior sanction of leave. All leave applications should be endorsed by the parent or guardian and recommended by the Head of the Department concerned. Normally, leave will be granted when it is applied for in advance for valid reasons. Extending leave beyond three days in the case of sickness or other unavoidable reasons, the students shall be required to produce medical certificates or suitable authenticated documents to the Principal.
  2. Applications for leave from students residing in the College hostel shall be routed through they Warden / Deputy Warden.
  3. Teachers shall not permit the students into the class who are late by more than 5 minutes, unless they are convinced of the reason offered by the students.
  4. Students who require leave for the class must get permission from the lecturer concerned before the class begins.
  5. The students absenting themselves without leave for one or more periods will be considered as absent for the whole day.
  6. A student absenting oneself continuously for more than three days shall be fined at the discretion of the Principal and the matter will be referred to his/her parents.
  7. If a student is absenting continuously for fifteen days without prior sanction, his/her name will be removed from rolls.
  8. A student studying in U.G. Degree course should secure a minimum of 75% of attendance for appear for the University Examinations. A candidate shall fulfill the following conditions to qualify for completion of the Semester.
    1. A student is expected to attend all classes and secure 100% attendance.However, for unavoidable reasons such as Medical /participation in sports / personal, he/she is expected to secure at least 75% of attendance in all semesters.
    2. However, under the extraordinary circumstances when a student undergoes severe medical problem or represented the College in state or national level, the College reserves the right to condone 10% of the shortage of attendance. In such cases, a student with 65% attendance will be permitted to take University Examinations.
    3. Candidates who secure less than 65% of overall attendance will not be permitted under any circumstances to write the University Examination at the end of the semester. Such students are required to repeat the whole year.

Rules Concerning Issue Of Certificates Certificate From The College

Students should apply to the Principal for issue of any certificate.

Mentioned below on payment of the fees detailed againsed them.

  1. Transfer Certificate:Rs. 25/-
  2. Conduct Certificate :Rs. 25/-
  3. Age Certificate:Rs. 25/-
  4. Course Certificate :Rs. 25/
    Normally a notice of 2 days is required for the issue of any certificate.
  5. An extra fee of Rs. 50/- per year will be charged in case of applications made after a lapse of one year or more after leaving the College .
  6. Duplicate Certificate :Rs. 25/-
  7. Any other Certificate:Rs. 25/-

Certificates From University

  1. Pass / Provisional /Qualification certificates will be issued by Anna University through the College concerned.
  2. For Migration Certificates, the students should apply to Anna University directly.
  3. Application for Convocation should be made, in the prescribed form, to the Registrar, Anna University, Chennai-600 025 through the concerned College with the required fee.

Tutorial System

For every subject tutorial hours are reserved on weekly basis. Number of tutorial contact hours per week depends on complexity of the subject. During the tutorial hour more than two staff members are made available to enable the students to get personal attention of the faculty members and get their doubts cleared. This method helps the students to get the subject better understood.

Hostel Rules And Regulations

  1. Admission to the hostel will be made by the Principal. All the applications for admission must be made to the Principal in the prescribed form which can be had from the Hostel Office on payment.
  2. Every student seeking admission in the hostel should give an undertaking in the prescribed form countersigned by the parents.
  3. Members of the hostel should not absent themselves from the classes and stay in the hostel
  4. Study hours are tentatively fixed as 8.30pm to 10.30 pm. This might get altered extended during study holidays and exam days. During study hours, members of the hostel should remain only in their reading rooms.
  5. The inmates of the hostel should not leave the hostel on any day without prior permission of the Deputy Warden/Warden, failing which severe disciplinary action will be taken against them which/may include termination of the students from the hostel.
  6. No student shall leave the hostel after 6.00 p.m. The inmates of the hostel going out and not returning before 6.00 p.m without permission will be punished severely and also fined heavily.
  7. The inmates should not misuse with the electrical power in their rooms. The use of extra light, electric heater or electric iron or fan or audio or video tapes or any other electrical appliances is strictly forbidden.
  8. Members shall not remove the furniture from one place to another or exchange among themselves.
  9. Hostellers are forbidden from defacing or damaging any part of the hostel. Students who are involved in such activities will be punished severely to the extent of dismissal from the hostel. The cost of any such damage so caused, shall also be recovered from them.
  10. The mess fees must be paid in the College office before the prescribed date.
  11. Members are advised not to leave cash or valuables in their rooms. The hostel authorities will not be responsible for articles or money lost by members. Students can deposit their cash in the nearest banks.
  12. On no account tea,meal or tiffin is allowed to be taken inside the room unless it is approved by the Tutor/Deputy Warden / Warden under emergency cases where the inmates are sick and bed ridden.
  13. No member is permitted to enter into the kitchen.
  14. No guest can be entertained without the permission of the Deputy Warden / Warden.
  15. Guests are confined to the reception hall and students are not permitted to take the guests to their rooms, lest they will be dealt with severely.
  16. Members should maintain silence in their rooms.
  17. Any complaint against any employee of the hostel for any cause may be made in writing to the Deputy-Warden / Warden for necessary action. No member shall take law in his/her own hands, however, grave or provocative the conduct of the employee immates / Co - Students may be.
  18. Possession of cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, intoxicating drugs or use of such forbidden items is strictly prohibited.
  19. Shouting or causing disturbance to the other inmates of the hostel is strictly prohibited.
  20. Any breach of discipline in the hostel shall be dealt with either by fine, suspension or expulsion from the hostel or even handing over to the police. Expulsion from the hostel, either temporarily or permanently shall entail similar expulsion from the College as deemed fit and necessary.
  21. Members of the hostel should not organize or convene meeting of any sort without getting permission from the Deputy Warden and Warden in writing.
  22. Students who are expelled for non-payment of mess dues will be permitted to join the mess only on clearing his /her mess dues.
  23. A student who is removed or suspended from the College shall automatically cease to be the member of the hostel. The hostel students shall adhere to the timings strictly,
    1. Breakfast: 7.30 am to 8.30 a.m
    2. Lunch : 12.00 noon to 1.00 p.m (likely to change in accordance with time Table)
    3. Snacks : 4.30 p.m to 5.30 p.m.
    4. Dinner : 7.30 pm to 8.30 p.m
    Note: Students shall strictly confine to the food timings. Food will not be served beyond the specified timings unless specific directions obtained from Deputy Warden/Warden on extra-ordinary circumstances.
